EVCR UNIT’S SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE UNDER VARIABLE LOAD

Every condensate load varies somewhat. When the load does drop below 100%, the solid condensate stream that completely blocks steam loss, aided by Enercon’s Venturi Design, becomes a violently turbulent mixture of equivalent volumes of steam and water, a phenomenon called two-phase flow. Since condensate is several hundred times denser than steam, no steam loss is experienced down to 68% of maximum load and only a negligible amount thereafter.

DEGRADING MECHANICAL STEAM TRAP PERFORMANCE - Since mechanical steam traps lose steam every time they cycle, steam loss increases as a system approaches capacity. Below is a comparison of steam loss experienced during in-service use at various loads for a “new” mechanical steam trap, a “used” mechanical steam trap, and the EVCR Unit.
