AN INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

The EVCR Unit is a "fixed” venturi device. It removes condensate continuously, retains BTU rich gas in the operational system, and has no moving parts!
The EVCR Unit is not another “steam trap” but a PERMANENT, superior replacement to the mechanical steam trap currently in use. No moving parts means it works as well in year 14 as it did on day 1.

DISAVANTAGE OF MECHANICAL STEAM TRAP PERFORMANCE
Conventional mechanical steam traps remove condensate cyclically. They are designed to open in the presence of condensate and close in the presence of steam utilizing internal floats, buckets, bimetal, bellows or discs. Properly operating mechanical steam traps cycle several times a minute – over 2 million times a year on 24-hour-a-day processes. Consequently they wear, leak and eventually fail.
Moving parts degrade over time
Labor intensive maintenance program for identification and replacing of malfunctioning
  traps
Ongoing replacement cost – Life expectancy avg. 3-4 yrs; as little as 3 months
Steam system inefficiencies in 15% to 30% range are normal
Leaves condensate in system that leads to various kinds of water damage

Since mechanical steam traps lose steam every time they cycle, a greater loss is experienced as a system approaches capacity. Below is a comparison of steam loss experienced during in-service use at various loads for a “new” mechanical steam trap, a “used” mechanical steam trap, and the EVCR Unit.
